About UsThis is to tell you . . . of a rescue shelter . . . Of living my life as a tribute to Partner, A German Shepherd I cherished for 14 years . . . . . . Of knowing a Doberman named Oso, who saw it was not my time to die . . . It was Partner who inspired me to continue this rescue organization as it was back in 1995. With his soulful guidance and direction, I became Basset Rescue of Montana's President and "leader of the pack". In his honor and cherished memory, and as my tribute to him, I save Basset Hounds and the occasional German Shepherd. This is how and why this Rescue organization is here and has continued all these years. I offer this with gratitude for all those who rescue animals and share my vision. ~Respectfully yours, Leslie Ames, President Basset Rescue of Montana Our MissionBasset Rescue of Montana, based in Frenchtown, was founded in 1995. We have been in operation for over 16 years now and I, Leslie Ames, have taken on the duties of President of the Board. A twist of fate, and a passion to save dogs, has placed me here. Our 501(c)3 nonprofit is a full service rescue and placement organization for the basset hound breed. We are dedicated to rescuing abused, abandoned, neglected, and/or unwanted bassets. We understand that sometimes life unfairly throws us cruel curves, so we also accept relinquished hounds. We'll take any basset, for any reason. Our mission is to find the best possible "forever" homes for these dogs. For that reason, we have strict Adoption Requirements, which help us find the most loving, stable homes. The primary part of our adoption process is a home and fence check. Our adoption agreements are detailed, and our procedures here at Basset Rescue of Montana are, in every way, for the benefit of the homeless and abandoned dogs. |
